Following are some of the projects that the Sigs Club has undertaken, is undertaking or has supported in some way. The lists are not exhaustive however, they do exemplify the very significant contribution that the Sigs Club has made to the life and times of our large family of military communicators. Please advise the Club Executive of any other projects that should be included.

  • Canadian Military Communications and Electronics Network (CMCEN). An exciting initiative begun in 2014 by some of our retired members resulting in the development of the web portal CMCEN and a number of Lines of Operation (LOO) intended to improve Branch-wide information sharing, support our heritage and veterans and represent us on national associations amongst other objectives. This project is strongly supported by our Club as CMCEN has similar objectives albeit on a much broader scale. Check out www.cmcen.ca for more information and links.

  • C&E Memorials Project. This project was initiated by the C&E Branch in 2003 as a Centennial Project with the objective of identifying all C&E memorials and displaying them as a photographic collage in the C&E Museum. Responsibility for the project was assumed by the C&E Heritage and Museum Committee (a product of the CMCEN Project) in 2015 with the stated aim of collecting and recording pictures and data on all memorials dedicated to C&E personnel and events and to make the information available to C&E institutions, personnel and the public. The Sigs Club has supported this project throughout and helped identify many memorials (less grave markers) be they in the form of monuments, cairns, statues, plaques, buildings, markers, streets, etc. Some members of the Club have agreed to take the lead in the continuing search and are in the process of implementing a plan to have all of this information online by end 2018. In 2017 a Data Collection Form will be sent to all C&E organizations and personnel requesting their help in adding to the data base by canvassing archives, records, personnel and units far and wide; input from Club members will again be invaluable. In addition to the memorials listed in the Completed Projects list above, the following provide a few more examples on which data has or is being compiled:
